Cougar Tales: Cougar Hiring Cougars

Career fairs are still the best way to recruit students and alumni pursuing internship and job opportunities.  These events offer an opportunity to connect face-to-face with hundreds of candidates and are one of the most significant ways to “give back” to your alma mater. According to the 2016 Alumni Survey, 93% of alumni said the College prepared them well for their careers – recruit these well prepared students and alumni at the Fall 2016 Career Fair & Graduate School Expo on October 4 in the TD Arena. Or, if you happen to be in the market for a new job, this is your chance to connect face-to-face with numerous employers.

The Career Center and Alumni Affairs have teamed up to create several engaging events and programs to connect you to students and alumni for recruitment and professional mentoring opportunities. In addition to attending the Career Fair, there are many ways for you and your organization to get involved with the College of Charleston, such as:

  • Posting Jobs and Internships: Utilize our online job board, CougarJobLink
  • Mentor a Student: Participate in The Alumni-SAA Mentor Program
  • Provide a Job Shadow: 2-4 hour commitment to host a student to learn more about your work
  • Employer in Residence (EIR): Represent your company during one-on-one meetings with students and alumni who may be seeking job search assistance. This entails a resume critique, cover letter review, internship tips, or simply conducting a general career conversation regarding opportunities with your company.
  • RESUMANIA: Quick resume reviews for students and alumni
  • Panels and Presentations: Share your expertise and career story with students.

By recruiting at the College of Charleston, you are creating ways for students and alumni to further their professional growth and career potential while ensuring their future success. Get Involved!
