July 2018

1974

Randell Stoney is an Attorney with Barnwell Whaley in Charleston, SC, and has been selected as a 2018 South Carolina Super Lawyer. He has been selected for his work in the areas of civil litigation, personal injury-general and alternative dispute resolution. He is a certified mediator as well as a certified arbitrator.

1979

Tony Daniell of Myrtle Beach, SC, graduated from Pacific Coast University with his law degree in May 2018. To celebrate, he and his family are taking three months to travel around the world.

1980

Chuck Baker has been elected as the Alumni Association Representative on the College of Charleston Board of Trustees. He practices law in Charleston with Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP; and is a Past President of the Cougar Club and the College of Charleston Alumni Association, and a former recipient of the Alumni Award of Honor from the Alumni Association. He and his wife, Betsy Bramlett Baker ’81, have three children.

Debbie Holmes Leber is Executive Director for Mid-Shore Board of Realtors, and has recently received the Realtor Certified Executive (RCE) designation. She and her husband, Greg, live in Easton, MD.

Mark Shiver of Knightdale, NC, is Communications Liaison, House Republican Caucus for the North Carolina General Assembly. He and his wife, Tamara, have two children.

1981

Ken Schnepf is an Instructor at Monterey Peninsula College in California and has a master's in fisheries science from the University of Washington. He and his wife, Apisara, were married on April 7, 2017.

1983

Kim Springfield Bauhs of Germantown, MD, is Human Resources Director for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. She earned her master's in organizational development and human resources from Johns Hopkins University.

Deanne Lucas is Chief Financial Officer for the Foundation for Research Development at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Rahul Mehra of Tampa, FL, presented the medical keynote for the event, "Beyond the Physical", A Symposium on Mental Health in Sports, to the NFL Players Association. He is CEO and Chief Medical Officer of MehraVista Health, LLC, a Florida-based, national healthcare organization.

1987

Michael MacEachern of Hiawassee, GA, is Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Communications at Young Harris College. His team won the 2018 Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Staff of the Year Award.

1988

Hank Futch of Rock Hill, SC, has been elected to the College of Charleston Board of Trustees. He is a commercial real estate broker, and is the Broker in Charge of Hank Futch Real Estate, LLC and KEY Investment Advisors of South Carolina, LLC. He is a founding member of the bands, The Futch Brothers, Blue Dogs, and The Occasional Milkshake. He and his wife, Nolie, have two children.

Teresa Tincher of Hanahan, SC, retired from Berkeley County School District after 30 years of service.

1989

Steve Swanson, of Mount Pleasant, SC, has been elected to serve on the College of Charleston Board of Trustees. He chairs the executive committee of Charleston Angel Partners, and is a former chair of the College of Charleston Foundation. He also serves on several boards at the College and in the community. He is a recipient of the Alumni Association's Alumni Award of Honor along with his wife, Emily Molony Swanson ’89.

1991

Wendy Jowers Hopper of Lexington, TN, is a Retail, Hospitality and Tourism Master Instructor at Tennessee College of Applied Technology, Jackson. She earned an M.Ed. from Vanderbilt in 2014, and is completing her Ed.D. at the University of Memphis in 2021. She and her husband, Mark, have one daughter, Ivy Claire.

1993

Mark Dole and Madlene Koller Dole ’95 live in Brookline, MA. Mark is Head of Oncology Communications for Merck and Madlene is Head of Clinical Quality Assurance at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research. She earned her master's in pharmacology from Duke University.

Cynthia Marcengill Legette of Johns Island, SC, has been selected to receive the 2018 U.S. Trust President's Award recognizing her exceptional contributions to Bank of America and U.S. Trust. She is Senior Vice President and Private Client Manager with U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, and is a Vice President on the College of Charleston Alumni Association Board of Directors.

1994

Beth Middleton Burke has been elected to the College of Charleston Board of Trustees. She is a Partner with the law firm of Richardson, Patrick, Westbrook & Brickman, LLC and a Past President of the College of Charleston Alumni Association. She is a past recipient of the Honors College Distinguished Alumni Award. She and her husband, Richard, have one daughter and live in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Carmen Thomas of Elgin, SC, is a Service Delivery Trainer at nThrive. She earned her master's in counseling from Webster University in 1999.

1996

Chaunie Miller Rogers of Moncks Corner, SC, is a Substitute Teacher for Kelly Services, an educational staffing agency. She and her husband, Brian, have two daughters.

1998

April Angel Merritt of Geneva, FL, is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, a member of the American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery, and a Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was named in the top 20 of Orlando's Best OB/GYNs by Babyourself Magazine.

1999

Tracee Terrill Meyer is Owner of Cape Fear Cotillion in Wilmington, NC, which specializes in offering fun and engaging etiquette, social education and cotillion classes to children, teens, adults, and businesses. Tracee and her husband, Joe, have two children.

Ashley Howze married David Michaud on March 11, 2017. She earned her M.P.A. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2004, and is Senior Director of Development, Discovery Programs and Partnerships at Emory University. The couple resides in Atlanta.

John Payne of Charleston, SC, has joined Handsome Properties as an Associate. The firm specializes in historic downtown and Lowcountry waterfront property. He earned his M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina and the Ecole Superieure de Commerce in Paris, specializing in marketing and negotiations.

2000

John Ballard of Greenville, SC, earned his MBA from Clemson University in August 2017 and is a Business Intelligence Platform Architect at Michelin where he is working with other Enterprise Architects in France to transform business intelligence for the North American zone, as well as for the overall group.

Ryan Bee and Kate Boyenga ’99 of Marietta, GA, are Owners of Bee Family Wines, a family-owned, boutique wine label sourced from a historic vineyard in St. Helena, adjacent to the Napa Valley.

David Lee Nelson turned his colon cancer diagnosis into a solo performance at Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston this spring. The actor and stand-up comedian debuted his play, "Stages" at the festival and used comedy to try to make sense of what was a life-altering experience. He is currently living in Greenville, SC, and plans to teach at Furman University in the fall.

Brady Nunley is Vice President of Merchandising for Staples, Inc. He earned his M.B.A. from Cornell University's Johnson School and resides in Franklin, MA.

2002

Meredith Clark of Dallas is Consultant for Fine Arts and Languages Other than English at Region 10 Education Service Center. She earned her master's and doctorate from the University of Texas, Austin in Hispanic Literature.

Matt Dorsey and Zach Larichiuta have partnered to open a HomeBridge Financial branch in Charleston, SC. Both have been in the mortgage business for 15 years with different companies.

Latasha Jeter Goodwin of Greenwood, SC, has been named Principal for Hodges Elementary School. She earned her master's degree in teaching from Converse College, and her M.Ed. in education administration from Grand Canyon University

Shawn Holland has been elected to the College of Charleston Board of Trustees. A former Cougar baseball player, he is President and Owner of City Glass, LLC in Anderson, SC. He and his wife, Emily, have one son.

2003

Jeffrey Bogdan of Charleston, SC, has been selected as a 2018 South Carolina Super Lawyers Rising Star for his work in business litigation, insurance coverage, personal injury-general, personal injury-medical malpractice and civil litigation. He is an Attorney with Barnwell Whaley Patterson & Helms, LLC.

Jenn Saunders Burger of Franktown, VA, is Chief Financial Officer at Broadwater Academy. She earned her master's in communication from Northwestern University in 2010.

Luke Reasoner of Chalfont, PA, is a News Designer for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

2004

Earl Capps (M.A. ’08) is Human Resources Manager for Web-Don, Inc. and resides in Indian Land, SC.

Kristen Hassler is Head of Learning Support at Eton College in Windsor, United Kingdom.

Leslie Klinger Hudson of Charlotte, NC, is Manager of Merchandising Systems and Reporting for the Cato Corporation. She and her husband, Todd, have one son, Teddy, born in July of 2014.

2005

Sandra De Happi Mouamba is Owner of Next Level, a creative marketing agency based in Cameroon. She earned her MBA at the INSEEC Business School in Paris and resides in Houston. She and her husband, Yannick, have three daughters.

Shannon Sheehan announces the birth of son, Jameson Westley Parker on January 23, 2018. The family resides in Westminster, MD.

Tameika Jackson Wideman is Associate Registrar at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, SC. She earned her master's in organizational management-analytics from Charleston Southern University in December 2017. She and her husband, Travis, welcomed the birth of daughter, Eliana Hope, on December 22, 2017.

2006

Jennifer Reagan of Mount Pleasant, SC, has joined Pinnacle Financial Partners as a Senior Vice President and Mortgage Adviser.

Jennifer Tobias of Lexington, SC, married David J.B. Sawyer on May 5, 2018 in West Columbia, SC. She is employed by Palmetto Health, University of South Carolina Pediatric Endocrinology.

2007

Laura Hiles of Mount Pleasant, SC, is a Senior Sales Executive for Medical Diagnostic Laboratories.

Scott Manning is Director of Development for North Carolina State University. He and his wife, Carter Lahey Manning ’10, have one son, Stokes, and live in Raleigh, NC.

Justin Ross has recently relocated to Charleston, SC, and has joined Sequence Real Estate LLC. He will provide brokerage services for private and institutional owners.

2008

Jaimie Garvin Bible and husband, Mark, announce the birth of their daughter, Ainsley Jo Bible, on April 27, 2018. Jaimie is a Histotechnologist for Pathology Consultants in Greenville, SC.

Ian Bowers of Charleston, SC, recently joined the law firm of Buist Byars & Taylor LLC as an Associate. He graduated cum laude from the Charleston School of Law in 2013, and will focus on corporate matters and litigation.

Mackenzie Foster of Mount Pleasant, SC, is Director, Production Operations for Work Light Productions.

Patric Goettsches is Executive Assistant to President and CEO at Mercedes Benz Vans, LLC. He and wife, Megan Smith Goettsches ’07, reside in Charleston, SC.

Erin Wolford and Christopher Singleton ’06 of Charleston, SC, were married on September 3, 2017. Both are employed by Benefitfocus. Erin is a Product Owner and Chris is Director, Engineering Operations.

Brittani Ingle Winfield and husband, Joseph, announce the birth of Jeremiah Robert Winfield, on February 1, 2018. He joins big brother, Everett. The family resides in North Augusta, SC.

2009

Elyse Osborne Epting and her husband, Andrew, announce the birth of Everett Hale Epting on March 7, 2018. He joins big brother, Ford. The family lives in Columbia, SC.

Mae Link of Weaverville, NC, is Founder and Director of LOOM Imports, which specializes in ethically sourced, fair trade accessories and home decor. The company strives to preserve cultural heritage through supporting traditional handmade methods of production.

Tori Bundy Richards (M.A. '12) of Alexandria, VA, has been promoted to Director, Business Development at CDR Fundraising Group.

2010

Elizabeth Sanders LaFleur is Reporter and Columnist for The Greenville News. She married Russell LaFleur in 2016 and resides in Greer, SC.

Erin Murphy of Brooklyn, NY, is a Recovery Counselor and Art Therapist for the Service Program for Older People. She earned her MPS in art therapy and creativity development from the Pratt Institute in 2016.

2011

Kayla Glasscock Abernethy is earning her master's in information systems and assurance, and expects to graduate in 2019 from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

John Grew of Raleigh, NC, is a Service Account Manager at Cisco Systems, Inc. He and Briana Sherman were married in 2014.

Maggie Lydecker is Interior Design Manager at Wayfair in Boston, and married Garrett Kanter on September 16, 2017.

2012

Derek Fronabarger of Arlington, VA, is Director of Legislative Affairs for the Wounded Warrior Project. He earned his M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina and was previously Director of Policy for Student Veterans of America.

Ross Kressel married Rachel Goffman on May 27, 2018. He is Learning and Development Consultant for Bank of New York Mellon in Pittsburgh.

Amanda Stacey Sapp is Accounting Manager at Sharing Hope SC, and received her master's in accounting from Auburn University in 2014. She and her husband, Jamie Sapp ’10, live in Charleston, SC.

2013

Derek Del Core of Studio City, CA, is a freelance director, producer, and editor for the film and television industry with SB Creative.

Jillian Rauscher of Charleston, SC, has joined AgentOwned Realty's Mount Pleasant office as a Real Estate Agent. Her experience is in marketing, market research, and client services.

Jamie Utt of Dallas is an Analyst at RSF Partners, a private equity firm. He earned his master's in accounting from Wake Forest University in 2014.

Jasmine Vanadore of Easley, SC, earned her M.L.S. in June 2018 from the University of Denver, and is a Teaching Fellow for Meeting Street Schools.

2014

Brittany Adams of Roslindale, MA, is a Preschool Teacher at the Greater Boston Jewish Community Center's Early Learning Center. She received her master's in elementary education in 2015 from the University of Rochester.

2015

Drew Hendricks is a High School Small Group Leader at Seacoast Church in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Jack Wagstaff of Durham, NC, was selected as Officer of the Year among over 500 sworn personnel in the Durham Police Department after only working two years on the street and having been awarded Officer of the Month twice. He earned his master's in criminal justice and public administration from Liberty University this year.

2016

Valerie Cassell is earning her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rutgers University and expects to graduate in 2019. She resides in Edison, NJ.

Christa Kearns of Coronado, CA, is Sales and Marketing Manager for Toast Catering.

Michaela Reynolds is an Account Executive for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

2017

Kenya Avant is a Human Services Specialist for the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services in Mullins, SC.

Lance Foxworth of Columbia, SC, is a Hydrogeologist for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.

Kaitlyn Gotzon (M.S. '18) of Summerville, SC, is a Staff Accountant at WebsterRogers, LLP.

Jake Maziar of Charleston, SC, has joined Ferrer Commercial Real Estate Advisors as an Agent and Associate.

Sara Romo of St. Louis, MO, is Travel Director at Maritz Travel.
