She will tell us about working at the NMAAHC, share images of her favorite exhibitions, and provide advice for those who wish to visit the Museum. The webinar will be hosted by Neysa Burkes Williams ’95, President of the Black Alumni Council and a member of the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors.

Ms. Utsey joined the NMAAHC in 2015 as a member of the grand opening team, where she managed logistics to ensure the timely opening of Sweet Home Café and the retail store. She first came to the Smithsonian Institution in 2008 as an intern at the Center for Folklife and Cultural. She worked for the 2009 and 2010 Folklife Festivals and held contract positions at the Anacostia Community Museum, Smithsonian Affiliations, and the National Museum of Natural History.
